Already have a domain elsewhere?

Transfer it and we add a year to its current expiry date. You keep the days you already paid for.

  1. Unlock it

Remove the transfer lock at your current registrar.

  2. Get the EPP code

Also called authorisation code or Auth Code.

  3. Add it to the cart

Search it above and choose “Transfer”. Share the code when you confirm.

  4. Approve the email

The registry emails the owner. Within 5 to 7 days it is with us.

Domain questions

.mx or .com.mx?

Both are run by NIC México. .mx is shorter and easier to remember; .com.mx is cheaper and well known for businesses. Many brands register both and redirect one to the other.

Do I need a company to register a .mx?

No. Any individual or company, in Mexico or abroad, can register .mx, .com.mx and .org.mx. The .gob.mx and .edu.mx extensions have special requirements.

How long until it works?

Registration is immediate. DNS changes usually propagate within minutes, though some ISPs can take up to 24 hours.

What happens if it expires?

The domain stops resolving and enters a grace period during which you can renew it. After that a redemption fee may apply or it can become available for anyone to register. That is why we remind you well in advance.
